What Is a Kammprofile Gasket?

Kammprofile gaskets are commonly used in a variety of applications, including heat exchangers. They're made of a solid metal core, with concentric serrations on the face, which forms a tight seal. The core is then faced with a non-metallic material for added strength and rigidity. This type of gasket is also easy to handle, even when it's large.

Kammprofile gaskets come in male and female versions, with flange arrangements ranging from raised to smooth. For standard raised flange assemblies, Kammprofile gaskets are available with an integral outer locating ring. The Style G-ZA is similar to Style G-ZG, but replaces the outer locating ring with an independent, loose ring that accounts for flange differential radial thermal expansion.

Kammprofile gaskets are used in a variety of applications, including heat exchangers, valve caps, and manhole covers. They have excellent compressibility and recovery characteristics, and can maintain seal integrity even under high pressure. They are designed to be easy to install, and their groove design facilitates densification of the sealing material.

Kammprofile gaskets are ideal for industrial settings that involve the use of chemicals and high temperatures. Their chemical resistance and adequate sealing stress allow them to resist chemical leaks and prevent contamination of the environment and people. They are also effective in high temperature environments, proving their value in these harsh environments.
